Joanne M. Gaydos-Daniel, DDS, MSD, BOARD CERTIFIED

Dr. Gaydos-Daniel grew up in Elkhart, IN and received her B.S. degree from Purdue University, West Lafayette. Prior to dental school she worked in diabetes research at Miles Laboratory (now Bayer). She received her doctorate from Marquette University School of Dentistry and then completed her General Practice Residency at Lakeside Veterans Hospital in Chicago. She received her certificate and Masters degree in Periodontology from the Indiana University School of Dentistry where she also served as Assistant Clinical Professor for 14 years. This included comprehensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of periodontal disease and the surgical management of dental implants. She had a solo periodontal private practice in Fishers and Muncie, IN. She joined her husband in private practice in Murfreesboro in 2011.

During her career Dr. Gaydos-Daniel has remained committed to ongoing dental education. She consistently attends 100 or more hours of continuing education each year in an effort to offer the best and most current care for her patients. She is Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Examples of technology Dr. Gaydos-Daniel uses to provide state of the art care for her patients are:

- Concentrated Growth Factor. Created from the patient's blood, concentrated growth factor (CGF) is used to enhance the healing of both soft tissue (gum) and bone. It is used in the reconstruction of bone for the ideal placement of dental implants and in gum grafting surgery to repair recession defects on the roots of teeth.

- Cone Beam CT scans 3D Radiography. This CT scanner, which uses far less radiation than a medical CT scanner, provides 3D images which give more information than traditional X-ray images. This allows for more accurate diagnosis and more precise surgery.

- Computer Guided Surgery. Data from the cone beam CT scan is used to produce a surgical guide or template. This allows for the most accurate placement of dental implants for Dr. Gaydos-Daniel's patients.

-Laser Assisted Surgery. Eight years ago both doctors were trained and began using laser assisted surgery in the treatment of periodontal (gum) disease. Combining minimally invasive laser assisted surgery with other technologies and techniques to eliminate infection and rebuild new gum and bone allows us to provide predictable treatment outcomes with minimal post-operative concerns for our patients.

Digital records. This allows for quick access to needed information anywhere in the office. It also allows us to share necessary information with other doctors participating in your care. The result is more effective, efficient care for our patients. It also insures that sensitive medical information is safe.

Dr. Gaydos-Daniel has been active in all phases of organized dentistry. She maintains membership in the American Academy of Periodontology, the Southern Academy of Periodontology, the Tennessee Society of Periodontists, the American Dental Association, the Tennessee Dental Association and the Murfreesboro Dental Society. She has had active leadership roles in many of these organizations. She has also lectured in the United States and Russia.

She is active in her community and enjoys serving at her church, St. Rose of Lima. In her free time you will find her cooking, gardening, travelling and event planning.

Dr. Gaydos-Daniel lives with her husband Steve in a quiet corner of Rutherford county near Rockvale, TN.
