Your Implant Consultation

Your first visit is about gathering the right information and answering your questions — not rushing into surgery. We want you to leave understanding your options, the steps involved, and what happens next.

What your exam includes

Every implant consultation at our Murfreesboro office includes three core parts. Together they give a complete picture of your gums, bone, and bite before we recommend a plan.

How the visit usually flows

1. Welcome and historyWe review your goals, medical and dental history, medications, smoking or vaping, and any prior dental work. Honest details help us plan safely.
2. Exam and imagingYour comprehensive periodontal exam, CBCT, and intraoral scan are completed in office. You stay informed about what we are looking at and why.
3. Findings in plain languageDr. Gaydos-Daniel or Dr. Kim explains what we see — bone volume, gum health, and which teeth can be kept or may need removal.
4. Options and recommendationsWe discuss fixed vs. removable solutions, timing (including whether teeth-in-a-day may be possible), grafting if needed, and who places the final teeth (often with your general dentist).
5. Written plan and next stepsYou receive a clear outline of recommended treatment, sequencing, and fees. Sedation, if you choose it, is listed separately. No pressure to decide the same day.

So there are no surprises

• Surgery is not automatic on visit one. Most patients leave with a plan and a scheduled next step; same-day surgery is only when it has been planned and is appropriate.
• Fees are reviewed before you commit. You will see estimated costs for implants, any extractions or grafting, and provisional vs. final teeth. Financing options (Cherry, CareCredit, Proceed) can be discussed.
• Sedation is optional and separate. Procedures use local anesthesia; moderate conscious sedation (oral or IV) is available when appropriate and billed separately.
• We coordinate with your dentist. When a restorative dentist is involved, we plan implant positions with the final teeth in mind.
• Maintenance is part of the plan. Implants need ongoing cleanings (at least every 6 months based on your gum health) and, for fixed bridges, professional prosthesis cleaning at least once a year.

Who provides implant care

New dental implant placement at our office is performed by Dr. Joanne Gaydos-Daniel and Dr. Sang Hun “David” Kim, both board certified by the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Steven Daniel provides periodontal care and implant repair — including LAPIP®, implant debridement, and grafting for ailing or failing implants. By choice, he does not place new implants; new implant placement is done by Dr. Gaydos-Daniel and Dr. Kim.
